About the Alliance

Two Organizations. One Mission. A Century of Expertise.

The Contract Manufacturing Alliance was created to bring together the entire CPG manufacturing ecosystem — from cottage kitchen to commercial scale.

The Alliance

What We Built

The Contract Manufacturing Alliance (CMA) was created by the Contract Packaging Association and the Co-Packing Network to address a gap in the CPG manufacturing world: brands couldn't find a single, credentialed starting point.

We built eight arms — eight domains, eight communities, eight resource centers — that map to every stage of the manufacturing journey. Whether you're baking in your home kitchen or planning to build your own facility, there's an arm for that.

The result is an ecosystem backed by a 1992 non-profit trade organization and a family with over 100 years in the consumer products industry. That credibility isn't decoration — it's the foundation everything else is built on.

The Contract Packaging Association

Founded in 1992, the Contract Packaging Association (CPA) is a national non-profit trade organization dedicated to promoting the growth and welfare of contract packaging and manufacturing firms across North America.

The CPA provides member firms with a range of programs designed to help them grow, connect with brands, and operate more effectively. Their RFQ matching system connects brands directly to qualified member manufacturers — a core tool of the Alliance.

The CPA publishes CP Magazine, the official publication of the contract packaging industry, produced by PMMI Media Group. The publication reaches over 20,000 qualified packaging professionals three times per year.

The Co-Packing Network / Conzumables

The Co-Packing Network is the operational heart of the Alliance. With a history spanning over a century — from the early 1920s through today — it represents a family tradition of involvement in consumer products.

"Our family has been involved in the consumer product industry since the early 1920s. From the first generation to the latest, our best practices have been handed down." That legacy covers supermarkets, wholesaling, manufacturing, and brand ownership — a full-spectrum perspective that most advisors simply don't have.

Since 2008, the Co-Packing Network has helped over 40 Shark Tank brands navigate manufacturing. The team works with internal and external partners across the country to help brand groups with manufacturing and launch needs.
